The Abbe Museum is partnering with the Bangor Public Library to present a unique opportunity for the community to learn about juried art markets and their importance in the Native community. Passamaquoddy Basketmaker, Gabriel Frey, will be hosting an information session about his basketry and his experiences attending markets around the country. He will also be promoting the Abbe Museum Indian Market taking place from May 18-20 in downtown Bar Harbor. Gabriel and over 70 other Native artists from across North America will be displaying and selling their art during the market. Other events during the weekend include musical performances, storytelling, a Native fashion show, and an Indigenous film festival.
We hope to see you at Bangor Public Library! This is a free event open to all.
