Basketmaking: A Wabanaki Tradition

  • Abbe Museum 26 Mount Desert Street Bar Harbor, ME, 04609 United States (map)

Wabanaki people are famous for their baskets for good reason; they are as unique and deeply tied to this space as the people themselves. Join us every Wednesday in September for a special look at what goes into the process of basketmaking from ash pounding, moldings, and dyeing splints, you will be amazed by the craft and care that goes into each weave.

Participation in this program is included with the price of admission and no prior registration is required. Have a question? Contact us at educator@abbemuseum.org.
