As a small non-profit organization, the Abbe Museum offers a limited number of volunteer internships for high school and college students.
Abbe Museum Internships
Internships at the Abbe Museum are a great way to learn more about museums and the Wabanaki. Interns get a chance to experience the variety of museum work, from education and collections, to exhibits and guest services.
Based on their academic training, interests, and the availability of projects, interns work in one of the following departments at the Abbe:
- Exhibition Design
For many projects, a background in anthropology, archaeology, Native American art, history or photography is helpful, but not required.
All internships are volunteer, unpaid and are available on a part-time basis. Positions vary according to departmental needs. Housing is the responsibility of the intern.
