Moonrise

Peter Gommers

paddle art

"Night exposure of petroglyph rocks taken at 1:30 am at the site of the Machias Bay petroglyphs.  This photo was meant to be…I had no idea the moon would rise in the 12 minutes the exposure took.  And right in the center of the frame!"

Peter has been a photographer his whole life.  In 2006, he gave up his previous career in software design and decided to dedicate himself to photography. He has produced a series of images of the Machias Bay Petroglyphs and their natural surroundings.  This series was exhibited September 2007 at the University of Maine Gallery.  Peter’s nature photography has been exhibited throughout New England.
