Eric Otter Bacon is a young and innovative Passamaquoddy basketmaker who has come into his own with a combination of unique and traditional designs. He is not afraid to create new techniques and
ideas through experimentation.

Eric grew up in Indian Township, Maine. As a skilled artist, he
draws inspiration from fellow creative basketmakers as well as his
environment.

Eric works with very fine brown ash splints, braided sweetgrass,
and birch bark. He often etches birch bark to accentuate his baskets,
and sometimes incorporates additional materials such as antler
or wampum beads.
