Deer Isle artist Larry Moffet paints outside--at all times of the year and in all weather. "As an artist, I believe my role is to interpret the beauty, grace, and rhythms of the natural world of which we are a part," says Moffet. He studied at St. Lawrence University and the Minneapolis School of Art and Design. He began painting full time in Maine in 1971, and has supported himself working as a wooden boat carpenter and lobster fisherman.
