The Abbe Museum is a unique resource for educators who seek to teach about Maine’s Native American cultures, history and archaeology. Because we welcome and value educators, we are happy to offer current, full-time teachers and school librarians a discount card for 10 percent off books in the Museum Shop.
Program Details:
If you are a current, full time teacher/school librarian for students in grades K-12 and can show current proof of employment, you are eligible for a discount card for 10 percent off books in the Abbe Museum Shop. Current proof of employment – a current school ID card or current pay stub – must be shown in order to receive the discount card. The discount card must be shown each time the educator wishes to receive the discount. The card is good for one year from the date of issue, at which point current proof of employment must be shown in order to renew the discount card.
The discount applies only to books and we reserve the right to limit quantities. We also reserve the right to discontinue the discount program at any time. The discount cannot be combined with membership discount. We’re sorry, but home schooling tutors, student teachers, substitute teachers and teachers of adult education classes do not qualify for the discount card at this time.

Bring your current proof of employment to the Museum Shop during regular museum hours and fill out our simple registration form. We’re sorry, but we cannot complete registration over the phone or by email. Most of the books and videos listed below are available in our Museum Shop.
