Artist statement - I learned how to work with metals while on an extended trip to New Zealand three years ago. I ran into a small jewelry studio to get out of the rain and met Peter Ellsbury, the shop owner and local artist. Peter took me on as his apprentice and for 6 months taught me how to work with silver metal and local paua shell. I have continued my art here in the states by working for Lisa Hall for a summer and am currently working out of my home studio in Somesville. My jewelry inspiration comes from the beautiful nature of Mount Desert Island as well as the gorgeous places I have been lucky to travel.
