Paddle
James is the Tribal Historian for the Penobscot Nation. As the former Staff Researcher for the Wabanaki Studies Commission, he planned and implemented Wabanaki Studies Summer Institutes; compiled sample lesson plans and curriculum and lists of educational resources. He has served as a member of the Boston Children’s Museum Native American Advisory Board and the Bangor Center for History Board of Directors. He also works closely with the Abbe Museum on advisory committees and as a program leader.
As an artist, James works in a variety of media including pen and ink, digital, and pencil.
