Birches in Winter

Carole Beal

paddle art

White stoneware

Carole Beal has been a resident of Maine for 25 years, spending time in both Bar Harbor and Blue Hill, where her summer residence overlooked a five acre field that gave her studio its name. In 1982 she co-founded the Island Artisans Gallery with other local artists, and her stoneware is still sold in Bar Harbor and Northeast Harbor. Beal’s work is inspired by hiking all seasons in Acadia and she says that her goal is to create “everyday pottery that reflects a birch forest or a silhouette of the mountains and islands of Acadia, reminding you of your very best moments in Maine.”

This bowl features Acadia’s birch trees in winter. It is dishwasher safe, and safe for all foods and microwave.
